Yasir Mohamed Ahmed

A consummate Tourism Expert, brings more than twelve (12) years of extensive experience in coordinating Academic Programs, Tourism, and Hospitality in East Africa, South East Asia, and the Middle East. His career has spanned diverse sectors, collaborating with organizations, government institutions, tourism academic institutions, and innovation hubs. Yasir's expertise lies in Tourism Innovation, research, and initiatives, where he has cultivated an in-depth understanding of the Rwandan Development Board (RDB), particularly the Tourism and Conservation Department's policies and the Rwandan business environment and culture since 2014. Yasir's unwavering dedication to the Rwandan tourism sector culminated in the successful establishment of his own tourism company, BRAVO BAFFO Ltd specializing in Tourism and Hospitality Development. His passion for marketing and commitment to the Rwandan Tourism campaign, notably under the VISIT RWANDA initiative, is evident through his extensive experience providing strategic counsel to both companies and government bodies. With a diverse and promising skill-set, Mr. Yasir adheres to marketing principles and best practices in Tourism, both domestically and internationally. His educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Management with Honors, and he has completed several courses in tourism, capacity building and diplomat related courses. In his professional journey, Yasir has served as a Focal Point for UNWTO and the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism in Somalia, bridging the gap between the Somali government and UNWTO in various Tourism initiatives. His contributions were instrumental in Somalia's successful membership in UNWTO. Yasir also worked as a Senior Tourism Development Advisor, where he consulted on tourism strategic plans and led the rebranding of Somalia's image as a global tourism destination. Yasir's had huge role as a Program Coordinator between SITAH Institute, the Ministry of Tourism, and USAID aimed to empower Somali youth through hospitality and tourism. He also co-founded the Somali Institute of Tourism and Hospitality (SITAH), where he produced well-trained youth for the service industry. Mr. Yasir and his Bravo Baffo Ltd team recently in this year 2023 conducted the first study/research - across Somalia on priority sector investment aiming to have a comprehensive report for the future of investment opportunities in Somalia’s Tourism and Hospitality Sector. The study/research funded by the European Union through DAI Global and subcontracted Bravo Baffo LTD Somalia.
